Raiding the attic - Great Granny's dresses

Norah Burbury - great grandmother and society grande dame - a debutante in the Thirties, at Bletchley Park in the Forties, and retired to bed in the Fifties. We have some of her dresses, incredibly glamourous, if a little shabby with time - and had a bit of a fashion session this weekend. Fine for parties, but when o when are we going to have use of the ermine parasol complete with little tails? Here's a few tasters:

A little too er...tired for the maypole, marching or Morris dancing, so we settled for a game of badminton in the ballroom, with the spring sunshine streaming through.

Waking Up




Sun has melted what seemed like permafrost. Tiny lambs have appeared. The riverbanks are scattered with primroses, and Roland, stomping about in his shorts, is cursing the daffodils. Spring is upon us. Praise da Lord.
