Killyon has kick-ass ballrooms, libraries, big baths, drawing rooms with roaring fires, but this is my favourite place. the dovecot, turned potting shed. full of old packets of seeds, tangled string, worn out gloves, croquet sets and the old fireplace that fills with twigs from a jackdaws nest up above. the swallows live here too...in the summer, as they would.
